SUVs are the best cars for all types of road conditions. India has almost all types of roads such as highways, city roads, village roads, broken roads and no roads in backward areas. SUVs are the vehicles suitable to drive on all types of roads in all conditions. Now there would be many SUVs to be launched in 2018 but these cars are expensive than the regular hatchbacks and mid-sized cars. So let’s have a look at the SUVs under the price range of Rs.15 lakhs to be launched in 2018.
Datsun Go Cross
The Datsun Go Cross will be unveiled in Jakarta on January 18, 2018. Go Cross was also showcased in the 2016 Auto Expo in February. It has been two years, the Datsun’s most awaited car will be revealed in Indonesia this January. Datsun Go Cross will come with a 1.2 litre petrol engine that produces 68 PS power and 104 Nm torque. The SUV is also expected to be launched in a 1.5 litre diesel engine. The SUV will is expected to be priced between 5 to 6 lakh in India.
Hyundai Creta Facelift
Hyundai Creta was launched first time in India in 2015. Now the facelift version of the SUV will be launched in 2018. Hyundai Creta is the top rival of best selling SUV Maruti Suzuki Brezza in India. The SUV was showcased at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show but the company has not officially declared any launch date for India. Hyundai Creta facelift is likely to be launched in the second half of 2018. The SUV will be launched in 1.6 litre Petrol, 1.4 litre Diesel and 1.6 litre Diesel engine options and will be available both in manual and automatic transmission options. Hyundai Creta will be priced in a price range of 9.5 lakh to 15 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara S
Vitara S is the sports version of the already existing Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Maruti Suzuki Vitara S has already been launched in the UK and is expected to be launched by June 2018 in India. The new Vitara S will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing a 100 PS of power and 10 Nm of peak torque. The SUV may be launched in both manual and automatic transmission options. Maruti Suzuki is expected to keep the Vitara S in a price range on Rs.9.90 to Rs.12 lakh.
Mahindra XUV500 Facelift 2018
Mahindra XUV Facelift 2018 is another SUV that is expected to be launched in 2018. The Mahindra XUV 500 is the company’s flagship offering and will launch the facelift variant this year. The upcoming facelift variant will be powered by the 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine that will produce a power of 140 bhp and a peak torque of 330 Nm. The SUV will come in manual transmission but Mahindra might launch it in Automatic transmission also. The Mahindra XUV 2018 is likely to be priced between Rs.12 lakh to Rs.18 lakh.
Honda HR V
Honda cars are facing a tough time in the Indian markets. Even the bestseller sedan Honda City is facing tough competition from Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. Honda is going to bring its new SUV Honda HRV in 2018. The SUV will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. Honda HR-V will be launched with a 1.5 litre petrol engine that produces a power of 128 bhp and a peak torque of 155 Nm. The HR-V will also be launched with a 1.5 litre diesel engine option that produces 99 bhp power and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines will come mated to six-speed manual gearbox. The company is likely to price the Honda HR-V will between 14 to 18 lakh.
