The much awaited Suzuki Intruder has been launched in India at an inaugural price of Rs 98,340. Suzuki Motorcycles India has entered the 150 cc cruiser motorcycle segment in the country by launching the much anticipated Suzuki Intruder motorcycle at Rs 98,340 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The 155 cc cruiser motorcycle Suzuki Intruder that has been launched by Suzuki Motorcycles India uses the engine and the underpinnings of Suzuki’s popular motorcycle – the Suzuki Gixxer. Apart from the design, the Suzuki Intruder gets numerous changes that distinguish the Suzuki Intruder from the Suzuki Gixxer.
Suzuki’s 155 cc Cruiser Motorcycle – Suzuki Intruder Launched In India
Though the Suzuki Intruder has been inspired from the bigger Intruder M 1800 and also gets the same name as the Intruder M1800, but it carries a much smaller 155 cc engine as compared to same named Intruder that get a 1,800 cc engine. On the other hand, the Suzuki Intruder uses the same engine and some features as the very trendy Suzuki Gixxer.
The technical team of Suzuki Motors has tried to create the same bulky appearance of the Suzuki Intruder 150 as its bigger sibling – the Intruder M1800. Looks of the Suzuki Intruder 150 are appealing and the company hopes to capture a significant share of the economic cruiser motorcycle segment in India which is currently dominated by Bajaj Eliminator. As per a research by Suzuki Motorcycles India the demand for affordable 150 cc cruisers in India is increasing and hence, the company decided to launch the Suzuki Intruder 150.
Design of the Suzuki Intruder 150
The Suzuki Intruder 150 justifies the cruiser segment it has been launched in. The intruder gets its cruiser scheme in all sense. The footrest of the Suzuki Intruder 150 has been set forward like a cruiser that offers a relaxed riding position to the rider and enhances the overall design too.
The Suzuki Intruder 150 gets the cruiser characteristic and appearance. The fuel tank of the Suzuki Intruder 150 gets massive shrouds that add muscle to the cruiser. The Suzuki Intruder 150 gets a lot of body panels on the sides as well as the rear that adds muscle to the cruiser.
Price, mileage and other features of the Suzuki Intruder 150
Underpinnings of the Suzuki Intruder 150 have been borrowed from the Suzuki Gixxer but as per the company, the Intruder 150 is an all-new cruiser motorcycle in all sense. The Suzuki Intruder 150 gets the singe-cylinder 155cc engine which is currently being used in the Suzuki Gixxer. The 155 cc engine produces 14 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.
The gear ratios of the Suzuki Intruder 150 are dissimilar as compared to the Suzuki Gixxer. The air box and the air intake is bigger in size. The exhaust unit is also different than the Gixxer. With body panel differentiation and few other changes the Suzuki Intruder cruiser motorcycle weighs 8 kg more than the Gixxer. As per the report, the company has claimed that the new cruiser will deliver a fuel efficiency of 44 kmpl.
The company has mentioned that it will be manufacturing the 155 cc cruiser Intruder in India for the Indian market as well as for export to other markets across the world.
