Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is the Indian Variant of Redmi 5 Plus smartphone and the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the new phone and is the successor of the last year launched and India’s favourite smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Display – The first thing that is different in the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro is the display. Both the smartphone comes with a display of 5.99 inches with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels which means that the display of the smartphones is bigger than the display we have seen on Redmi Note 4. Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch display and the resolution is 1920×1080 pixels. One more thing that is different in Redmi Note 5 is the aspect ratio of the screen. The screen has 18:9 aspect ratio.

Processor – The processor of the new Redmi Note 5 is octa-core Snapdragon 625 while the Note 5 Pro has Snapdragon 636 processor and the phone is the first phone in the world that uses this processor. The Snapdragon 636 makes the phone the fastest Redmi Note Ever. This processor scores 109692 points on AnTuTu. The predecessor has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 64-bit Octa Core 2GHz Processor.

RAM & Storage – All new Redmi Note 5 comes with 3GB & 4GB RAM and the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with 4GB & 6GB RAM. The internal storage on Redmi Note 5 is 32GB & 64GB while the Note 5 Pro smartphone has only 64GB storage. To recall, Redmi Note 4 was launched with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and with 32GB/64GB storage.

Camera – The biggest thing that you will see in the phone is a 20MP front camera and a dual rear camera with 12MP & 5MP sensor on Redmi Note 5 Pro which completely makes it different from Redmi Note 5. Note 4 has a 5MP camera on the front and a 13MP camera at back. On Redmi Note 5 there is a 12MP camera at back and an 8MP camera on the front. Moreover, there is a flashlight too on the back and front camera of the new Redmi Note 5 & Note 5 Pro.

What Remains the Same in Redmi Note 5 & Redmi Note 5 Pro as compared to Redmi Note 4

The first thing that is same in the predecessor and the successor is the Fingerprint sensor at the back. Although the IR sensor is also the same. Redmi Note 4 has a bigger 4100mAh battery while the new phones have 4000mAh battery.  Another thing that is to notice here is that both the new smartphone comes with hybrid dual-SIM format instead of dedicated microSD card slot. Users will have to remove out one sim to use the microSD card.
