UPSC CDS II Exam 2018: Last week, that is on 8th of August, Union Public Service Commission rolled out the official notification for the Combined Defence Service Exam II on the official website. With the release of the notification, UPSC also started the process of applications for the CDS II exam 2018. The CDS exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for the selections of candidates for various courses. The selected candidates who will clear the CDS Exam will get admissions in courses of Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers Training Academy (OTA). UPSC CDS II Exam 2018 Vacancy Details
According to the Union Public Service Commission official notification for the CDS II Exam 2018, there are total 414 vacancies for various departments. These vacancies are tentatives and may be changed at any stage. In Dehradun Indian Military Academy, there are 100 vacancies. Out of these 100 vacancies, 13 vacancies reserved for NCC `C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders. In the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, there are total 45 vacancies (including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders).
For the Airforce Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying), there are total 32 vacancies (3 vacancies reserved for the NCC’C’ Certificate). For the Officer Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) SSC MEN, there are total 225 vacancies (50 vacancies reserved for the NCC ‘C’ certificate holders). For the OTA SSC Women (Non -technical), there are 12 vacancies.

UPSC CDS Exam 2018 – Examination Scheme
The Union Public Service Commission conducts the CDS exam in 3 papers. The UPSC CDS Exam have three subjects – English, General Knowledge & Elementary mathematics. Each Subject will be of 100 marks and candidates will get 2 hours to attempt the subject. For the admission in IMA, INA and AFA, candidates will have to appear in all three subjects while for the OTA, candidates will only have to give English and General Knowledge subjects.
