UPSC ESE 2018 Exam Notification has recently been released online declaring details like exam pattern, dates, exam duration and marking scheme adopted by the Commission online. UPSC ESE 2018 notification was released on September 27, 2017 inviting online applications from candidates from engineering backgrounds of various disciplines in an online mode.

UPSC ESE 2018 Exam pattern involves the screening of candidates via a UPSC ESE 2018 preliminary examination which is an objective type of paper. The candidates who are shortlisted via the UPSC ESE 2018 prelims exam are eligible to appear for the Mains exam. The UPSC ESE 2018 preliminary exam includes two papers namely, Paper 1 & Paper 2 of duration of 2 hrs. and 3 hrs. respectively. The Paper 1 is composed of General Studies & Engineering Aptitude while the Paper 2 constitutes of the technical subject paper. The marking scheme of the UPSC ESE 2018 Preliminary Exam involves the maximum marks of 200 and 300 marks respectively This constitutes the Stage 1 part of the UPSC ESE 2018 Exam.
The stage 2 of the UPSC ESE 2018 Exam includes the Mains Examination wherein the candidates screened via the prelims test has to appear for the two papers of 3 hrs. duration each. The two exams are of subjective in nature having a total of 300 marks each. The Stage 3 part involves a personality test cum interview carrying 200 marks. The total marks of the entire UPSC ESE 2018 Exam are 1300 marks.

The aspirants of the UPSC ESE 2018 Examination shall have to apply for the same via online mode by submitting an application form available on the UPSC website. Candidates shall have to submit the application fee along with the online application form for applying for the UPSC ESE 2018 Exam before the last date of submission on October 23, 2017. The UPSC ESE 2018 preliminary exam shall be held on January 7, 2018 the next year.
The result of The UPSC ESE 2018 preliminary exam shall be announced by the end of March 2018 screening out candidates for the next level of the UPSC ESE 2018 mains exam. The Mains exam shall be conducted in the month of May 2018 followed by Stage 3 of interviews. The final result of candidates who qualify the UPSC ESE 2018 Examination shall be uploaded via a merit list generated by September 2018 followed by revealing marks of candidates online on the UPSC website.
