Tom Alter, a Veteran Actor is Fighting With Fourth Stage of Cancer

One of Bollywood’s veteran actors, Tom Alter is diagnosed with skin cancer that shocked many of the Industry people and his fans. Tom Alter who has appeared in many Hindi films, television serials and is a renowned theatre artist too in India.

Ever since the news of Tom Alter’s cancer disease has started surfacing in media, the family of Tom Alter has been flooded with phone calls and messages from his good wishers and friends from Bollywood, television, and theatre.

Bollywood actor Tom Alter diagnosed with fourth stage cancer

The actor, Tom Alter is suffering from skin cancer and is diagnosed to be in the fourth stage. Tom Alter was doing theatre till last month and was said to be perfectly fine. He has been hospitalized last week only in one of the hospitals of Mumbai. Tom Alter’s son Jamie Alter, told media that the actor’s illness has come as a shock for the entire family as none of them had ever thought him to suffer from any such chronic disease.

In his statement, Jamie also told that, last year, Tom Alter had got his thumb amputated due to squamous cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer), later which there were no signs of the illness. But this year again it has relapsed and the doctors have pronounced him to be a fourth stage cancer patient. The actor, Tom Alter is stable right now and his body has also started responding to the treatment.

Tom Alter will remain admitted in the hospital for another week or so untill the doctors say that when he has to come for the next round of medication.

Who is Tom Alter in Hindi film industry

Tom Alter is an Indian actor of American descent whose full name is Thomas Beach Alter. He has done many television serials, and is best known for playing the character of British and of another foreign origin in Hindi movies including Des Pardes, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Kranti, Ashiqui, Junoon, Karma, Gandhi and many more.

He has also worked popular TV series Zaban Sambhal Ke, Shaktimaan, Betal Pachisi, Captain Vyom and is one of the finest theatre artist in India. He has appeared several times as Mirza Ghalib in theatre and has been awarded Padma Shri by the government of India.
