Vidya Balan Joins (Censor Board) as CBFC Member | Prasoon Joshi Appointed as Chief

Bollywood’s entertainment queen, Vidya Balan has joined the new panel list of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) while Prasoon Joshi, an acclaimed writer from the Hindi Film industry taken up as the censor board’s chief. Actress Vidya Balan, who is a National Award winner has been given the charge in the new panel of censor board members.

The new panel of CBFC members has been reconstituted by the government of India, for the period of three years after the order of sacking CBFC former Chief, Pahlaj Nihalani was released.

Vidya Balan joins as CBFC member

Vidya Balan who is one of the finest and versatile actors of Bollywood is happy to have been appointed as a CBFC member. In a statement given to the media, Vidya Balan mentioned that she is elated to join the cadre of CBFC as a sensor board member and is ready to take the full responsibility. The Begum Jaan fame, Vidya Balan is excited to step into the new phase of her cinematic life where she can move a notch higher in her career that will enhance her sensibilities, complexities and realities towards Indian film industry.

Along with Vidya Balan, Narendra Kohli, Vivek Agnihotri, Gautami Tadimalla, Waman KendreVani Tripathi Tikoo, Neil Herbert Nongkynrih, Naresh Chandra Lal, Mihir Bhuta, T.S. Nagabharana, Ramesh Patange and Jeevitha Rajasekhar have joined the censor board members of the Hindi film industry CBFC. While the ace writer, Prasoon Joshi who has penned down many soulful songs of Bollywood has replaced the controversial Pahlaj Nihalani as the CBFC chief. 

The entire nation is looking forward to seeing Vidya Balan making her debut as the censor board member and making her contribution in scrutinizing products of Indian cinema that earned her so much name and fame. Parineeta was Vidya Balan’s debut movie in Bollywood after which she gave many blockbuster movies including Guru, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Paa, Ishqiya, No one killed Jessica, Kahani, The Dirty Picture, Bhool Bhulaiya, Kahani 2, Begum Jaan and much more. Vidya Balan has just finished her next Bollywood movie Tumhari Sulu which is speculated to hit the theatres all across India by the end of this year.
