Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan launched the 37 second teaser of Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 aka VIP 2, starring Dhanush and Kajol in lead roles. The teaser is action packed and a complete entertainer. It looks like another blockbuster of Dhanush like his previous one titled Pa Paandi.
The movie has been directed by none other Soundarya Rajinikanth. VIP 2 also stars Samuthirakani as Raghuvaran’s father, Saranya Ponvannan and Amala Paul. This is the sequel to the 2014 Tamil hit movie Vella Illa Pattathari aka VIP, that also starred Dhanush. But this time story is brand new! Thus, we can’t compare VIP and VIP 2.
Dhanush as Raghuvaran in VIP 2
In a career spanning over 15 years, Dhanush has donned several characters. We’ve seen him as psychopath lover in Kadhal Kondein. An innocent Kaaru in Aadukalam and a fierce gangster Kokki Kumar in Pudhupettai. However, Raghuvaran became a rage mainly because of his guy-next-door character. While we’ve adored his innocence in VIP, Raghuvaran in VIP 2 seems to have a lot of action scenes.
Dhanush, Kajol face-off:
Kajol is missing in the teaser and not seen for a second also. We wonder whether she plays a major role in the film or not? VIP 2 marks Kajol’s comeback in Tamil cinema after a gap of 20 years. Last seen in Arvind Swami starrer Minsara Kanavu, she’s playing a character with negative shades. Apparently Kajol is said to be friendly person with full of energy and her energy motivates people to work with same enthusiasm.
There is no glimpse of Kajol in trainer which might have disappointed few fans. As per reports, it’s said that Kajol is playing a character of several shades. Going by the teaser, one of the main highlights of Velai Illa Pattadhari 2 is the face-off between Dhanush and Kajol.

Sean Roldan is singing in this film, who won the hearts of music lovers with Pa Paandi. The film is set for a grand release in theatres on July 28 that also happens to be Dhanush’s birthday. The film is co-produced by V Creations along with Dhanush’s home production banner Wunderbar Films and is shot in Tamil and Telugu. Film is expected to hit the box-office in July, 2017.
