Vodafone India Adds 14 Million Subscribers to Reach Total Base of 223 Million

Vodafone India has added 14 million new customers in the FY18. With this figure now Vodafone India has reached a total customer base of 223 million. In the FY18, Vodafone launched the Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) services in India and one of the major development is the Merger with Idea Cellular. The merger with Idea is on track and waiting for the final legs of approvals.

Vodafone India Key Financial Highlights For FY18

Financial Performance: Vodafone India Service revenue at INR 34,855 crores in FY18 (down by 18.9%), impacted by the reduction in interconnect usage charge, international termination charge and continuing suppressed pricing in the industry. Vodafone India EBITDA at INR 7,766 crores in FY18. Vodafone India Sustained and prioritized capital investments of INR 7,251 crores in FY18.

Operational Performance: Vodafone India reached a base of 223 Million customers through a network of139,000 total sites and Substantial rural presence with a customer base of 120 million in Mar18. The company gained Revenue Market Share; Q3 FY18 at 20.9% and Service Revenue ARPU at INR 119 in Q4 FY18. Vodafone Business Services now contributing c.20% of Service revenues (FY18).

Vodafone Business Services: With the launch of Vodafone Super IoT, Vodafone is now the only telecom operator that offer end-to-end IoT solution in the fast-growing segment. There is an Exceptional growth in both Fixed Line services in Data and Voice products. The company has Deepened engagements with State governments and Public sector enterprises with key deployments under the Smart Cities mission. Vodafone is also delivering fully digital network for the fixed line services.

Driving Data: The Data usage grows c.350% in FY18 over FY17; 523% in Q4 FY18 YoY. Out of the 76 million data users, 53.5 million of data users uses greater than 1MB. The company has added 22 million broadband users YoY to close at 59.8million 3G/4G subscribers. The Data usage growth led by higher smartphone penetration at over 40% of the total customer base(Mar’18 exit). Delivers many attracting 4G data offers in partnership with Micromax, Samsung, Nokia, Lava, Intel, Intex, One
Plus etc.

Driving Digital: Vodafone announced the ew brand “The Future is Exciting. Ready?” This underlines Vodafone belief that the new technologies and digital services will play a positive role in transforming society. The company launched the VoLTE services with which the customers will experience the best from Vodafone’s Data Strong Network. Customers enjoy HD quality crystal clear voice with super call connect when they call any mobile. Also, the telecom operator launched the “Happy to Help…IN A CLICK”.

Driving Content: Get the best content on the Vodafone with Vodafone Play including 10000+ movies, over 300 Live TV channels, International premium TV shows and Original web series. Vodafone Play is free with Vodafone Red Plan. The Netflix is also one of the best offers from Vodafone. The company has partnered with Netflix to offer 12-months free subscription for Vodafone Red subscribers on select plans with Samsung S8 & S9+ handset. Vodafone Games and Vodafone Magzter are also there that offer a new experience to users.
