Volvo XC60 Launched In India at Rs.55.90 Lakh | 8 Speed Automatic Transmission

Volvo India has launched its premium SUV Volvo XC60 in India at a price of Rs.55.90 lakh. The new generation Volvo XC60 is based on the Volvo’s latest SPA platform and is launched in only one variant. The newly launched SUV is the second generation of Volvo XC60 that has replaced the earlier version that has been sold in India since 2011.

Volvo XC60 Engine Specifications

The All new Volvo XC60 is powered by a 1969 cc turbocharged diesel engine that produces a peak power of 233 PS at 4000 rpm and peak torque of 480 Nm at 2250 rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission gearbox that transfers power to all the four wheels. The Volvo XC60 also comes in petrol engines – T5 and T6 and an entry-level diesel engine D4 worldwide but not in India. All these are 2.0-litre turbocharged engines that are not available for Volvo cars in India but the company might launch the petrol variants in India.

Volvo XC60 Design and Looks

In terms of looks and design, the Volvo XC60 is much sleek and stylish as compared to its earlier version. The SUV has borrowed lots of features in its design from Volvo’s flagship offering XC90. Volvo’s new XC60 comes with the multi-slat chrome grille flanked by stylish LED headlights. The headlamps are added with hammer-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL). The sculpted front grille is has subtle chrome plated lines and comes with a wide central air dam with chrome boundary lines. The SUV also gets LED fog lamps for clear vision in the foggy season.

Volvo XC60 also features prominent character lines, electrically operable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with turn indicators and LED tail lamps. The premium SUV comes with stylish 8 spoke chrome finished alloy wheels. The rear design of Volvo XC60 is also borrowed from XC90 with a beefy rear bumper and a roof-mounted spoiler. The vertical LED headlamps and chrome finished reflectors and dual exhaust pipes add to the rear looks.

Volvo XC60 Interior Features

The SUV also gets cooled/heated front seats feature with a massage function that is the segment first offering. In the interior Volvo XC60 features a 9-inch touchscreen system, 360-degree camera, semi-automatic parking, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control system. On the safety front, the ABS and airbags come as standard. The Volvo XC60 is likely to rival the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Jaguar F-Pace.
