Xiaomi Mi A1 Smartphone Starts Receiving Android Oreo Update via OTA

Xiaomi has started rolling out the Android Oreo Update for its Android One smartphone Xiaomi Mi A1. The Android Oreo 8.0 update for Mi A1 smartphone has now started. To recall the company launched the Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone in the month of September and it is the phone that was launched with Android One Programme of Google.

Android Oreo Update for Xiaomi Mi A1

The phone was launched with Android Nougat 7.1.2 version and now the users of Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone will get the Android Oreo 8.0 update. The update of Android Oreo for the phone has started from December 31st.

According to the official post on MIUI Forums of Xiaomi, the users of Mi A1 smartphone will first have to install the 7.12.19 software of Android Nougat on their phone. After installing the software on the phone, users will get the OTA update for the latest Android Oreo OS. The update of Android Oreo comes with a size of 1107.4MB and the update include Security patch with new features.

The latest update of Android Oreo for Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone brings some new features to the phone, for example, new notification dots, Autofill options, Picture-in-picture mode and smart selection. If you didn’t get the notification for the update then you can alternatively check for the update in the Software Updates.

Specifications of Xiaomi Mi A1

Coming to the specifications of Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone, the hone features a display of 5.5-inches. The resolution of the screen is 1080×1920 pixels. The display of the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and comes with 4GB RAM. The phone comes with Android Nougat OS but now the phone has started receiving the Android Oreo update.

The internal storage of the phone is 64GB and the storage is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. Coming to the camera, Mi A1 smartphone comes with a dual rear camera with 12MP primary and 12MP secondary sensor. For selfies, there is a 5MP camera on the front. The phone comes with a 3080mAH battery and connectivity options on the phone includes 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB Type-C.
