Xiaomi is all set to launch Mi Max 2, a new smartphone in India. Xiaomi has started sending media invites for a launch event which is scheduled to be held on 18 July in New Delhi. The company didn’t mention the name of the smartphone in media invites but it is highly expected that Xiaomi will launch Mi Max 2 in India on 18 July. The smartphone was launched in China in May this year at CNY1,699.
Launch date of Mi Max 2 in India
If we believe all the latest media invites then Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will launch in India on next Tuesday i.e on 18th of July. Xiaomi India on Twitter has shared multiple tweets regarding the launch of its new phone under the name #BIGISBACK.

Specifications of Xiaomi Mi Max 2
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 which was launched in China in May, comes with a 6.4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phone is powered with 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. In terms of RAM and storage the phone comes with 4GB RAM and for storage, there are two variants-64GB model and 128GB internal storage model. The smartphone runs on latest Android Nougat operating system and the same is expected to launch in India too.
In the camera department, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a 12-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED Flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There is an also a fingerprint sensor available on the back panel of the phone. Like all other Xiaomi devices, there is also an IR blaster on the top of the phone which is used as a universal remote. The phone comes with a huge 5300mAh battery and it comes with Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity options of the phone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type C. Sensor on phone includes a Proximity sensor, Gyroscope, and Light sensor.
Expected Price of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in India
If we see the prices of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in China, we’ll find that the phone is available in two storage variants with different prices and we can expect the same price in India too. In China Xiaomi Mi Max comes with two storage variants:
- 64GB internal storage variant: Priced at CNY1,699 (Approx.Rs.16,100)
- 128GB internal storage variant: at CNY1,999 (Approx.Rs.18,900)
Up to now, we can only expect the price but the exact price will be uncovered on launch event. Also, it is not sure that Xiaomi will launch the both storage variant or a single one for Mi Max 2.
