According to reports, Yamaha is going to launch the new Yamaha Fazer 250 this month. It was also reported that Yamaha is all set to unfold a brand new chapter in its voyage in India. The Fazer 250 is basically the fully-faired version of the Yamaha FZ25, on which it is based. After the Yamaha R15, which was the first fully flaired bike in its segment by Yamaha, the Yamaha Fazer 250 is going to be Yamaha’s first 250cc fully faired motorcycle for India. Based on the Yamaha FZ25, the Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to launch this month.
The Yamaha Fazer 250
The Fazer 250 by Yamaha is based on the naked street Yamaha FZ25. It is reported that the new Yamaha Fazer 250 will be a full-faired version of Yamaha’s quarter-litre motorcycle. The Yamaha Fazer 250 shares some of the components with the FZ25. Yamaha Fazer 250 includes components that are shared with the FZ25. The list is huge that includes the instrument panel, tail light, LED headlamp and the exhaust. Besides these cosmetic parts, the suspension, Cycle parts, wheels, chassis and brakes of the Yamaha Fazer 250 are shared with the FZ25.
Power and other specifications
The Fazer 250 will get its power from the same 249 cc, fuel-injected engine that powers the FZ25. This petrol engine generates 20 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The Yamaha FZ25 is an efficient machine useful for the daily city commute. The engine will come mated to a five-speed gearbox which is not blistering fast, but is smooth and refined. The engine offers a comfortable ride great couled with attractive road manners. Yamaha FZ25 also offers a decent top-end speed for occasional highway ride. It was also reported that Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to possess similar qualities as the FZ25 but one of the few changes that the Yamaha Fazer 250 will have is its kerb weight which may go up due to the addition of the fairing as well as the windscreen up front.
Front end of the Yamaha Fazer 250 appears heavy but the side profile is impressive and better. The mass-forward design gives the Yamaha Fazer 250 a bulky look, which may receive appreciation post its launch. Similar to its naked avatar, the Yamaha Fazer 250 will also feature dual-tone paint scheme.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 will continue to feature telescopic forks up front, with a monoshock at the rear like the FZ25. In fact, the Disc brakes of the Yamaha Fazer 250 will be the same as FZ25. The Yamaha Fazer 250 will come loaded with a 282mm disc at front and a 220mm discin the rear.
Price and Launch date of the Yamaha Fazer 250
Yamaha’s full-faired motorcycle – Fazer 250 is going to be launched later this month. The full-faired Yamaha Fazer 250, which is based on the Yamaha FZ25 it is exptected that the Yamaha Fazer 250 will be a little costlier than the Yamaha FZ25. The Yamaha FZ25 is currently priced at Rs. 1 lakh 19 thousand (ex-showroom price Delhi) and Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to be priced under Rs. 1 lakh 30 thousand (ex-showroom price Delhi). After its launch, the Fazer 250 by Yamaha will take on the likes of the KTM RC 200 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
