Maruti Suzuki’s Alto has reclaimed the number 1 position for the most-selling passenger cars in India for the month of October. Alto has repossessed the best-selling model tag in India as per the list for the month of October, 2017. After being surpassed by sibling Maruti Suzuki new Dzire, India’s famous passenger vehicle Alto has reclaimed the top slot again as the top-selling passenger vehicle model in India. Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire retained the top position for consecutive two months ie August and September.
As per the report, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’ (SIAM) latest data has revealed that the Maruti Suzuki Alto clocked sales of 19,447 units in the month of October, which is calculated more than the Dzire.
Maruti Alto Reclaims the Best Selling Passenger Vehicle Tag Again
Maruti Suzuki Alto reclaimed the top position in the list of most-selling passenger cars in India after a gap of two months. After losing the position to its sibling, the newly launched gen-next Maruti Suzuki Dzire, for consecutive two months – August and September, Alto made reclaimed the position from its sibling for the month of October.
As per the report, 19,447 units of Alto were sold in the month of October while the leader for August and September months could only sell 17,447 units in October.
Maruti Suzuki rules the list of top 10 selling cars in India
As per the report, out of top 10 selling cars in India, seven cars are from the Maruti Suzuki stable while the other three passenger vehicles in the list of top 10 selling cars in India belong to Hyundai Motors. In the top three positions Alto, Dzire and Baleno rule the chart.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’ data, Maruti Alto reclaimed the top position with 19, 447 units sold in October followed by former number 1 Maruti Suzuki Dzire that skidded to the second position with 17, 447 units sold and the hot hatchback Maruti Suzuki Baleno on the third position with 14,532 units sold in the month of October.

Rival Hyundai Motor’s Grand i10 stood fourth with 14,417 units sold followed by Wagon R, Celerio, Swift, and Vitara Breeza on the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth position in the list with 13 043, 12 209, 12 057 and 11 684 units sold respectively in the month of October. The last two slots were captured by Hyundai Motor’s Elite i20 and sub-compact SUV Creta with 11 012 and 9, 284 units sold respectively to seize the ninth and tenth position.
