New Mahindra Scorpio Facelift Variants – S3, S5, S7 and S11 | All You Need to Know

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the much awaited 2017 Scorpio facelift. The homegrown carmaker has launched the mid-sized SUV with appealing changes. As per the report, new 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift has been launched at a starting price of Rs 9.97 lakh. The top end model of the new Scorpio will go up to Rs 16.01 lakh. The company has redone the existing variants and has classified the new variants in odd numbers. The new Mahindra Scorpio 2017 comes in 4 variant – S3, S5, S7 and S11. Here are all the details about the classifications of the new Scorpio variants.

Mahindra Scorpio’s new base model – S3

The base model of the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift – S3 comes with a 2.5-litre m2DICR engine. S3 is the only model in the new Mahindra Scorpio lineup that comes with the 2.5-litre m2DICR engine. The S3 comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. S3 variant of the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift comes with new 7-slot black grille and redesigned tailgate. The base model gets black bumpers, door handles, ORVMs, and side cladding.

The S3 comes with silver steel rims, bumper mounted footrest and rear number plate applique. The S3 comes with full vinyl upholstery, air conditioning, manual adjustment for ORVMs, headlamp levelling switch, tilt adjustable steering, power windows (centre console mounted), 12V power outlet, remote fuel lip opener and hydraulic power steering. The S3 misses out on the in-car entertainment system but it gets side intrusion beams, collapsible steering and engine immobilizer as safety features.

New Mahindra Scorpio S5 trim

In addition to the features that are being offered in the base model of the new Mahindra Scorpio – S3, the S5 trim gets the 2.2-litre mHawk engine. The engine of the S5 trim produces 120 bhp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The unit comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The S5 comes with more features than the S3. Most of the features are easily distinguishable which includes black steel wheels loaded with wheel cap, fabric interior, body coloured bumper, power window controls on doors, follow-me-home headlamp and 12V charging port on the rear as well. The S5 trim also misses out on the entertainment system but the S5 gets better safet feature such as seatbelt reminder, ABS with EBD, dual airbags and auto door lock.

New Mahindra Scorpio S7 trim

Above the S5 variant, the S7 trim of the new Mahindra Scorpio gets more features. Other than the features in the S5 trim, the S7 gets silver inserts for the grille, body coloured ORVMs, side cladding as well as door handles. The S7 gets sky rack and rear spoiler coupled with silver skid plate for the front and the rear bumper.

The S7 trim of the new Mahindra Scorpio gets LED stop lights and projector headlamps besides the silver applique. Interior of the S7 is plush, besides the front seat armrests and height adjustable driver seat the S7 trim gets electrically adjustable ORVMs, remote centre locking, roof mounted sunglass holder, puddle lamps, lead me to vehicle headlamps as well as larger bottle holders.

The S7 trim gets the basic 2DIN audio system loaded with speakers and tweeters. The system is equipped with voice assist system. In addition to the safety offerings in the S5 the S7 trim gets an anti-theft warning system. The S7 trim gets the same engine as the S5 but the engine gets the option of the more powerful mhawk engine that churns out 140 bhp.

New Mahindra Scorpio S11 trim

The S11 trim of the newly launched Mahindra Scorpio is the top-of-the-line variant of the mid sixed SUV. Replacing the outgoing S10 variant the S11 carries attractive features in addition to the features offered with the S7 trim. The S11 trim comes with LED DRLs (daytime running lamps), chrome grille inserts on the front grille, chrome bezels for foglamps, alloy wheels, ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights, and tailgate with chrome applique.

The cabin of the S11 comes with a fully automated air conditioning system. The new top-of-the-line S11 variant of the new Scorpio gets audio and cruise control on steering wheel. Besides these feature the S11 also gets premium features such as the faux leather-wrapped steering wheel, faux leather upholstery and faux leather gear lever. The headlamps comes integrated with static bending technology.

The new S11 gets 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a music player equipped with reverse parking camera. The S11 gets the dynamic assist besides the gear shift indicators and rain sensing viper. The only addition in the S11 when it comes to safety is the speed alert. The top-end trim of the new Mahindra Scorpio also get the option of 4×4 drive.
