Aspiring law students must be busy preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2018 these days as the entrance examination is soon going to start. The online application forms will be made available from January 1, 2018, after the registration window is opened at clat.ac.in. CLAT is one of the national level entrance tests for candidates seeking admission in the Indian law colleges. It is conducted by National Law Universities (NLUs) every year and is conducted online.
CLAT 2018 marking scheme
Talking about the marking scheme of the CLAT 2018, the candidates will have to attempt questions from five subjects that will be segregated into five sections. There will be total 200 questions for which the candidate will be given one mark each if written correctly. The exam will be online with objective type questions. Candidates will be given multiple choices for answering and they will have to find out the correct one out of it.
Candidates should aim at scoring maximum marks and avoid writing wrong answers in the paper if they are doubtful. Unfortunately, there will be negative marking this time in CLAT 2018. For every wrong answer written by the candidate, will be a deduction of 0.25 marks while evaluating. If the candidate has not attempted or written answers to the questions, he will be awarded 0 marks for that with deduction at all.
Exam duration and more of CLAT 2018
The five subjects/ sections that CLAT 2018 paper will consist of are English including Comprehension of 40 marks with 40 questions to attempt, General Knowledge (GK) and Current Affairs of 50 marks and 50 questions, Mathematics for Numerical Ability of 20 marks and 20 questions, Legal Aptitude of 50 marks and 50 questions and lastly, Logical Reasoning with 40 questions and 40 marks.
The duration of the CLAT 2018 examination is of two hours which means 120 minutes. Within two hours, the candidate will have to attempt 200 objective type questions with multiple choices. Students should practice and solve sample papers to complete their exam in two hours time. The paper will be held online at various exam centres across India.
