7th Pay commission has been struggling from past 19 months for the implementation of the salary hike for around 50 Lakh central government employees. In contrary to the demands of the employees to increase the minimum pay from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 26,000, 7th CPC has recommended the increment of minimum pay to Rs. 21,000.
This issue has been dragged for a long time now and there are high chances for the implementation of the recommendation this year. After so many highs and lows in the matter, there has been an unexpected turn of the events in 2018. With just a few days ahead of the beginning of 2018, Mr. Arun Jeitley, the Finance Minister of the government took an unexpected turn leaving everyone hanging in dilemma.
An Unexpected Move by Mr. Arun Jeitley in 2018 For Salary hike under 7th Pay Commission
Where the matter of implementation of the 7th CPC recommendation was dragged in the folds of rejection, suddenly the unexpected news came to the newsstand directly from the Finance Ministry of the country. A ray of hope was generated when the word of formation of the high level committee came in the news.
Where at one end the employees were furious with the delay, now with this unexpected step the relief can be seen on their faces. Mr. Arun Jeitley is a man of his word and a few months back he promised the employees the minimum pay hike. Keeping his word he has not completely shut down the recommended salary hike under 7th Pay Commission.
Will 2018 Shape the New Salary Structure for the CG Employees under 7th CPC
7th CPC, the seventh pay commission formed since the independence of the country has been working on improving the salary structure for the central government employees. After so many confused verdicts from the government, FM Arun Jaitley has thrown another one to the pile. Recently, at the end of 2017, FM announced the formation of a new High-level committee to handle the recommendations of the 7th Pay commission. We have no idea why this step was taken by FM and still, no plans for the same have been revealed. Let’s just hope that all the hopeful Central government employees get their desired salary hike this new year 2018.
