Redmi Note 4 Helps Xiaomi Get A Market Share Of 25% in India

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a starting price of 10,000 Rupees in India and offers the features that other established companies like Samsung provide in a budget of 13-14 thousand Indian Rupees. Although it is not much of a price difference overall, it is a make it or break it deal for the budget smartphone buyers in India. Xiaomi claims it had sold over 5 million units of the Redmi Note 4 in six months of its launch and we are not surprised at all.

The strategy of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 can be seen in other smartphones by the company as well. The Redmi 4 too has been selling like hot cakes and it comes at an even lower price tag than that of the Note 4 with most of the features of the latter intact. The Redmi 4A which is the cheapest smartphone the company launched recently is the choice of most people as their first smart phone and comes at a feeble budget of 5,999 Rupees.

Xiaomi Is All Set To Launch The Successor of Redmi Note 4

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 might have been the most important phone for the company in 2017 and the company is taking the Note series pretty seriously. The Redmi Note 5 is rumoured to launch sometime pretty soon and it will reportedly come with better specs at the same price tag as its predecessor.

With 8.2 million sales in the last quarter of 2017, Xiaomi retains a market share of 25% in India which is higher than Samsung’s 23%. Samsung has not been able to do well in the budget segment because of phones like Redmi Note 4 and managed to sell only 7.3 million phones overall.
