NEET 2018 Update | Delhi High Court Holds CBSE Notification On Eligibility Norms For NEET Exam 2018

The Delhi high court had put on hold the notification of a CBSE setting down qualification conditions, including the upper age limit of 25 years and 30 years for general and OBC category individually, to apply for MBBS course. The order was passed by a justices Sanjiv Khanna and Chander Shekhar on a few petitions moved by medical applicants who are oppressed by different other eligibility norms standards which dismiss them from applying for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)- UG for which the last date for presenting the application is 9 March.

CBSE Notification For NEET Eligibility Norms

According to the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) notification, Candidates who have passed or studied from Open School, students who had Biology as an additional subject in 11th & 12th class, and candidates who have completed their 11th and 12th class in more than 2 years and students who have studied 11th & 12th class privately were not be eligible to apply for the NEET exam.

The court also said that the candidates are allowed to submit an application form for the NEET Exam doesn’t means that they can sit for the exam. The order of the court for the application of NEET exam will continue till the next hearing date which is on April 6th.

The Delhi High Court Bench of Justices also said that candidates who have passed 11th and 12th class from an open school or privately must belong to a recognised board. Otherwise, they will not be able to apply for the NEET 2018 exam.

NEET 2018 Exam – 43 New Exam Centres Added

For the NEET 2018 exam, 43 new exam centres have been added. This time the NEET 2018 exam will be conducted in 150 exam centres which were earlier 103 for the last year NEET Exam. New Centres for the NEET 2018 exam have been set up in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, J&K, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttrakhand and Karnataka.

The NEET 2018 exam date is May 6 and the online application process for the NEET exam 2018 has started from 8th February and the last date to apply for the NEET 2018 exam is March 9. NEET 2018 New Exam Centres Details
