According to report, the female gym trainer who was killed in Mohali at the PCL Chowk, has been identified as Sneha Bakshi. Sneha, who was a gym trainer in Mohali was a resident of Phase 5 Mohali.
How was Sneha, the gym trainer killed?
Sneha was on way to the gym with her father when she was killed at the PCL Chowk in Mohali. According to the complaint filed by the gym trainer’s father, Ashok Bakshi, he was going to the gym in sector 69 with Sneha to drop her. Victim’s father was riding the pillion while the gym trainer, Sneha, was driving the driving the scooty.
When the father-daughter duo reached the PCL Chowk in Mohali, the accused hit the scooty that was being driven by Sneha with his speeding car and fled from the spot.
According to the father of the deceased gym trainer, when they reached near the PCL Chowk in Mohali a speeding car hit the scooty that was being driven by Sneha. Following the collision, his daughter Sneha and he fell on the road. They were taken to the nearby IVY Hospital by some passersby, but his daughter succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The car driver has been identified as Faijan and has been arrested by the Police. Faijan, a resident of Jammu was able to flee from the spot (PCL Chowk, Mohali) but was caught by the PCR (Police Control Room, Mohali) party.
Similar incidents in the recent past
This is not the first case in Mohali. In the recent past speeding vehicles have claimed several lives in the vicinity. A 25-year old woman died after being hit by truck on Chandigarh’s Airport Road. Identified as Amandeep Kaur was hit by a tipper rider. The truck rider was able to flee the spot while the to-be-bride succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
In another case, a 70-year-old died after being hit by a car. The 70-year-old pedestrian was killed in sector 10 Chandigarh after a speeding car hit. The victim was identified as Subodh Kant Gupta, a resident of Sector 4, Chandigarh. The septuagenarian was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
In another road accident, a 25-year-old man was killed near gurudwara Amb Sahib in Phase 8, Mohali. The deceased was identified as Himanshu, who succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a rashly-driven autorickshaw. Though the auto-rickshaw driver managed to flee from the spot after hitting the Activa scooter that was being driven by Himanshu, but was later booked by the Police.
