Fifth Rape Case Reported From Panchkula Within This Month & This Time the Accused Threatened of an Acid Attack

Panchkula is earning a bad name. Not even one month has passed in the starting of 2017 and Panchkula has just reported its 5th case of rape. What a horrific start to the New Year for the residents of the city. A 14-year minor has alleged a minor boy for sexual harassment and rape. The incident came to police when the girl narrated the whole story to her parents. After which the parents rushed to the nearby police station and registered a case against the culprit. The case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCOS) act 2012 and the alleged boy has also been arrested.

And the 5th incident:

The victim was a school dropout, who used to work as a maid. The alleged boy was known to the girl and he used to molest the girl on the way to her work. On the day of the crime, the guy lured her to a secluded place and raped her. After raping the girl, the minor boy threatened her of an acid attack on her as well as on her sister.

After a complaint was lodged, the police immediately arrested the accused. A medical test of the victim was conducted and the statement of the girl was also recorded by the police.

The Rape Cases in Panchkula in 2017

In total 5 cases of rape have been registered in different police stations of Panchkula-

  • 7th January- The very first rape case of 2017 in Panchkula was reported on 7th January, where a 20 year old man was alleged raping a 6 year old girl in Sector 26, Panchkula. The accused has been arrested by the police.
  • 10th January- Secondly, a 16 year old was alleged of rape by a 9 year old orphan girl in Mansa Devi Complex. The culprit boy has also been arrested by the police.
  • 14th January- A 30 year old man has been booked for allegedly raping a 15 year old girl. The police has also arrested the accused of the case.
  •  18th January- Earlier this week, on 18th January a 21 year old engineering student was kidnapped by unknown person and allegedly raped the girl in a secluded place in Panchkula. The FIR has been lodged in the police station, but search for the accused man is still on.

We need to do something against the increasing number of cases. Although Haryana Government is emphasizing on ‘Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao’ movement, but these incidents are too shameful and are bringing ng a bad name to our city, state as well as our nation.
