If the car launches in year 2017 are considered, the Jeep Compass SUV has been the most surprising one. At the time of leaks an expected price of 25 lakhs was anticipated for the Compass but Jeep managed to squeeze the whole package into a starting price of 14 Lakhs. This made the new American SUV a very hot deal and a huge trouble for similarly priced cars like the Mahindra XUV500 and the Hyundai Creta. The features that the Jeep Compass came with made it an opponent for cars like the Tiguan which sell for as much as 30 lakh Indian Rupees.
Jeep Compass vs. Mahindra XUV 500
This is the most obvious car that the Jeep Compass takes on. The Compass comes equipped with a lot of features and premium goodies that the Mahindra XUV just cannot boast of. The build quality and the reliability of the Jeep brand is an added plus for the Compass where as the Mahindra XUV is infamous for its fit and finish and below average build quality. The only thing that is going for the Mahindra XUV 500 is the option for seating seven people and full-blown SUV dimensions.
Jeep Compass vs Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass going against each other does not make sense at all. The only reason Hyundai Creta is in this comparison is that it is very highly priced for the features it offers and just does not have what it takes to rival the Jeep Compass. The Creta though comes with SUV like proportions misses out on four-wheel drive and offers no off-roading capabilities to take on the American Compass by Jeep.
Jeep Compass vs Hyundai Tucson
The Hyundai Tucson when launched made huge sense for the Indian Market offering a premium comfort and luxury level over the Creta and offering better class of features as well. That all changed with the launch of the Jeep Compass which managed to undercut the price of the Tucson by over 3 lakhs. Though the Tucson comes with four-wheel drive and premium features like the Jeep Compass, it misses out on off roading capabilities of the Compass and still feels overly priced.
Jeep Compass vs Volkswagen Tiguan
This is where the Jeep starts getting ambitious and gets ready to take on cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan which sell for almost double the price at 32 lakhs. The selling point of the Tiguan was that it offered premium features in a five-seater SUV with sophisticated looks for the upper market customer. The Jeep Compass did all that while managing turning heads for its upmarket and sporty looks. Thought the Volkswagen Tiguan’s comfort and premium feel cannot be unmatched, Jeep Compass easily took on the Tiguan when it comes to build quality, better drivability, more reliable off roading features.
