JEE Advanced 2017, revised JoSAA schedule of the third round of counselling has been announced. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) third round of counselling will start from today i.e. 11 July 2017. As per the earlier schedule of JoSAA , the third round of counselling would have started on July 7, 2017.
Two round of JoSAA counselling has already been conducted and approximately 33,000 students have been admitted to various engineering colleges of the country. Candidates of JEE advanced 2017 were panic due to supreme court stay, but now revised schedule for third round of counselling have been officially announced.
JoSAA Schedule, 2017 Third Round Counselling
Supreme Court had put a stay on counselling and admission to Indian Institute of Technologies (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT) and other technical institutes of the country. But now Supreme Court has directed to continue the admissions process for candidates who qualified for JEE Advanced exam 2017. Thus, it has been officially announced on the JoSAA website that third round of counselling will commence from 11 July 2017. Around 1.6 lakh students appeared for JEE Advanced examination 2017. Approximately 50,000 students qualified and are struggling for 11,000 seats across 23 IITs.
Details of JoSAA 3rd counselling Schedule
JoSAA has also announced the details of filled seats and availability of seats on its official website at 7:00 pm on July 10, 2017. Candidates must check the seat availability details and apply for the JoSAA 2017 third counselling , for admission to various IIT’s and technical institutes. The result of 3 counselling seat allotment is available on official website of JosAA http://josaa.nic.in/.
Candidates must make withdrawal and acceptance of seats by reporting at centres between 11 July, 2017 to 13 July 2017. The timings to report at various reporting centre is 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on July 11 and July 12 , 2017. On July 13, 2017 candidates can report only between 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Supreme Court has directed IITs to halt their admission and counselling process in response to request of new merit list for JEE Advanced 2017 because of bonus marks awarded for every wrong question. However IIT said that at this stage it is not possible to generate revised merit list for JEE Advanced 2017 . Thus, Supreme court has taken back the stay, ensuring same won’t happen in future.
