Lamborghini adds its first SUV in its line up and it comes by the name Lamborghini Urus. With the growing trend of SUVs in the global market has garnered the interest of luxury automakers like Bentley and Lamborghini which previously only made luxury cars. The Lamborghini Urus is not a full blown seven seater SUV but the company touts it to be something called a super SUV, a first in its class. Lamborghini pitches the Urus against the Bentley Bentayga and might bring the car to countries like India which do not have quality roads for its low riders.
Features and Specifications of the Lamborghini Urus Super SUV:
The Lamborghini Urus wants to take the game a notch ahead with some class leading features and mechanics which inspire the company to call the Urus a super SUV. The Urus comes with a twin turbo 4-litre V8 engine that produces a phenomenal 650BHP of power and 850Nm of torque. These figures take the Lamborghini Urus super SUV from 0-100 Km/h in a matter of just 3.6 seconds. Since it is the first SUV by the company the Urus comes with a four wheel drive option and they want you to spin it hard and take it through the toughest of situations. The exteriors are not what you usually see and it is a classic carbon fibre design with a layout like most two doors from the company. The interior of the Urus too has a classic Lamborghini layout and features all goods and bits one would expect from a car in this price range.
Ongoing Trend of the SUVs in the luxury market: The Bentayga and now the Lamborghini Urus
Before the Urus, There was a time when super luxury car makers like Bentley, Rolls Royce and Lamborghini were limited to their USPs from luxury business level sedans to two door sports car but the affection of the customers towards the SUV segment forced these car makers to cater to this audience. The launch of Lamborghini Urus comes after the Bentayga was launched by Bentley which saw huge success. Even car makers like Jaguar have launched SUVs like the F-Pace which hope to recreate the success of Porsche Cayenne.
Price and Launch of the Lamborghini Urus in India:
The Lamborghini Urus makes perfect sense for markets like India where the roads are not too perfect for the company’s low riders which eliminate the possibility of customers who want to drive a Lamborghini to buy one. The Lamborghini Urus is a super SUV and with the kind of features it comes with, it is targeted at a very premium upper market customer. The UK price was close to 1.5 Crores but since the Car will come to India as a completely CBU route expect it to touch a price tag of 2.2 crores in India.
