Mahindra’s New MPV (U321) To Compete With Maruti Suzuki Ertiga And Toyota Innova | Launch In Early 2018

Mahindra is a synonymous with the SUV vehicles in India but when it comes to the MPV segment, there has been no Mahindra car to rival the Toyota Innova and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. All that is bound to change coming 2018 as the company’s answer to the Ertiga and Innova is ready and has been spied testing on Indian roads. The word is Mahindra will launch their new MPV at the Auto Expo in February in Delhi nearly next year.

What sets the new Mahindra MPV(U321) apart from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova

Although it is too early to pull out comparisons but were able to come to a few conclusions after having a look at the car under camouflage. The Mahindra MPV gets three rows of seats and a lower stance than the outselling XYLO which will enable the customers to get into the car fairly easily like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

The windows are large and maintain the airy feel of the cabin while the passengers in all three rows are pampered with individual AC Vents like the Toyota Innova. The Mahindra MPV might also try a captain seating option too to cater to the audience that likes to stay more comfortable at longer drives.

The infotainment system is a touchscreen unit probably the same one from the Mahindra Scorpio which ensures connectivity for Android Auto and Satellite navigation. Little to nothing is known about the Mahindra MPV’s exterior in terms of design to pitch it against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova.

Launch and Price of the XYLO like Mahindra MPV (U321)

The new Mahindra MPV will be showcased at the Auto Expo in Delhi, February next year perhaps which will give it a headstart against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga due for a facelift around the same time too. Pricing will be a key factor for Mahindra as they might not like to pull a card like Toyota Innova Crysta and try to position it in the 9-13 lakh Rupees segment. Mahindra has been working on the MPV for quite a while and it has been spied testing on Indian roads along with the Mahindra Scorpio Electric and KUV100 Electric.
