Adding to the drivers’ delight Mahindra is all set to equip all its future vehicles with Android Auto. The home-grown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra after introducing Android Auto on the Mahindra XUV500 will be offering the same technology in the upcoming cars from the Mahindra stable.
Mahindra Cars & SUVs to get Android Auto
It was reported, that Mahindra will be now offering its upcoming four-wheeler such as Scorpio facelift, TUV300, KUV100 et al loaded with the Android Auto technology. The future cars from Mahindra will get the Android Auto connectivity system over the next one year. Automaker Mahindra is planning to introduce a plethora of new upgrades in the upcoming cars in the coming year. The updates are all poised to make the cars a lot more tech-savvy.
Mahindra ties up with Google
It was reported that Mahindra will be updating its existing products. The update in the new as well existing cars from Mahindra will now include the Android Auto set to be put in place in the next one year. It is worth mentioning here that Mahindra is the first Indian automaker to have tied up with Google for introducing the connectivity system. This tie-up was initiated on Mahindra’s flagship XUV500. The Android Auto system will now be made available into other models of the Mahindra cars. These models include the Mahindra Scorpio facelift, Mahindra TUV300 and the Mahindra KUV100.
Specifications of the Android Auto system in Mahindra Cars
According to Mahindra, the new technology has added 25+ features to the XUV500 in which the system was introduced earlier this year. The recently added system allows the driver to share the driver score on social media. It also allows the driver to stream music while traveling, read news on the go and even search for eateries while traveling through third party apps like Zomato, Gaana, and News Reader. Besides these third-party apps a voice command in the system minimises distraction while driving. The ultra-modern hi-tech system doesn’t require much fiddling with the touchscreen system.
What is Android Auto
Android Auto in the layman’s language, is a simpler yet very advanced way to use one’s phone in the car while driving. This system is available, both on the phone screen as well as on the car display. The aim of Android Auto is to offer safety on the road by minimizing the distractions. Android auto had been designed with safety in mind. Android Auto includes a simplified interface, larger touch targets coupled with easy-to-use voice actions, that minimizes distraction to the driver so that his focus can stay on the road. An infrastructure developed by Google, Android Auto allows an Android device to connect with the Android Auto mobile app that offers a customized user interface while the vehicle is being used.
