Punjab is one prospering state on the map of Indian terrain that contributes the maximum to GDP of the country via agriculture. Apparently, Punjab has also emerged as one of the educational hubs in India with best of universities and technical colleges.
In a bid to educate more and more students across the state, irrespective of their capacity of spending on higher studies, Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship scheme was released on June 7, 2017. The Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 now invites students from the economically weaker section to apply before its last day i.e on July 5, 2017.
Objective of Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017
This scholarship scheme was kicked off to empower those students who are meritorious but couldn’t pursue higher technical studies due to lack of finances. Therefore, the state government introduced the Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017 to encourage and to uplift the needy students that are interested in becoming an engineer. This scholarship scheme initiated by the Punjab CM promises to offer quality education at comparatively cheaper fees.
Fee waive off percentage for Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017
Here below is the list of fee waive off that the students with the following percentage in Class 10th will be eligible for.
- Students with 60% to 70 % in class 10 are eligible for 70% of fee waive off
- Students with 70% to 80 % in class 10 are eligible for 80% of fee waive off
- Students with 80% to 90 % in class 10 are eligible for 90% of fee waive off
- Students with above 90% in class 10 are eligible for 100% of fee waive off
Technical institutes where Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 are applicable
Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017 will only be applicable to residents of Punjab and are seeking admission in the technical courses like BTech, BArch, MTech, MPHarm, MBA, MCA, MSc (Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Food Science & Technology) and MCom. The applicable institutes include-
- Maharaja Ranjit Singh University (MRSU), Bhatinda
- I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Jalandhar
- Government Polytechnic & Engineering colleges
Future of students receiving Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017
The Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017 will encourage the number of students to attain higher studies in government run engineering colleges and polytechnics all across Punjab. In a way, the seats at the government engineering colleges would also receive an adequate number of students that remain vacant for last many years.
