Here’s How Much Tiger Zinda Hai Earned at Box Office Upon Launch | Baahubali Stands Undefeated

Salman Khan Starrer Tiger Zinda Hai earned a whopping 34 Crore Rupees on the first day of its release but Baahubali which made 41 Crore in the same time stands undefeated. Although the numbers by the 2012 sequel are not bad at all, it missed to make a record of being the highest grosser on day one among the 2017 Bollywood films. Although trade analysts claim the film will do a business of 220-250 Crore in India.

Tiger Zinda Hai Is Second Only To Baahubali In Top 5

The belief that Salman Khan can take any average film to gross crores on the first day of its release still holds true with Tiger Zinda Hai. The film was one of the most hotly anticipated Bollywood movies of the year 2017 and made it to the list of top 5 opening day grossers. While Baahubali holds the first position with 41 Crore Rupees, other films in 2017’s top grossing movies include Golmaal Again at 30 Crore, Tubelight 21.15 Crore, and Raees 20.42 Crore.

Salman Khan is having a good year since Tiger Zinda Hai is the second film which made it to this list after his home production Tubelight. Never being in the good books of film critics, all his movies have however done a tremendous job at the box office.

Tiger Zinda Hai And Baahubali Are Both Sequels

Interestingly enough, both the first and second position holders are sequels and carry the story forward of the main characters established in the first iterations. Tiger Zinda Hai revolves around Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif who play Indian and Pakistani spies respectively and have a task at hand to defeat a terrorist organisation. Baahubali on the other hand revolves around a fictional character Shivundu with exceptional strength and powers.

The film saw the former real life couple Salman and Katrina on silver screen after a gap of 5 years. Their previous film together was the prequel Ek Tha Tiger produced by the same banner Yash Raj Films. Songs like Dil Diyan Gallan by Atif Aslam from the film are already popular among the mass audiences.
