Two Panchkula Residents Arrested for Raping Minor Girl

Two Panchkula residents have been arrested for raping minor girl. It has been reported that the Police have claimed to have arrested the accused from their residences. It has also been reported that the houses of the accused were located in the outskirts of Panchkula in Haryana. Both the accused in the rape and abduction case were arrested by the police after their names were mentioned by the victim in her statement.

Charges framed against the two accused

The minor named the accused in her statement. As per the report, the Panchkula residents had abducted the minor girl and also raped her near Sarangpur area of Chandigarh. Both the Panchkula residents were arrested by the police on the charges of kidnapping and raping the minor girl. The girl was abducted and raped last month but the legal action was taken after the minor girl who was raped by two Panchkula residents alleged rape by the accused. The police registered an FIR when the minor girl (victim) in her statement before a local magistrate alleged that she was raped by the two accused.

The Police have claimed to have arrested the two accused in the rape and abduction case from the outskirts of Panchkula. The victim (minor girl) mentioned the names of the accused in her statement following which the arrest was carried out.

As per the report, the victim, who is a also a resident of Panchkula was at a relative’s house when she was abducted and raped by the accused. An FIR has been registered against the two Panchkula residents. A case has been registered under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2015 which includes the charges of gang rape, abduction, illegal confinement. The two Panchkula residents, accused in the minor rape and abduction case have been remanded in judicial custody.

Statement of the victim recorded twice

According to the report, the minor girl had recorded her statement twice. Statement of the victim was recorded before a local magistrate where the rape survivor had not named anyone in the first statement. The minor girl who was raped by two Panchkula residents did not hold anyone responsible for her rape and abduction.

Though the rape survivor had not named anyone in the first statement, she mentioned the names of the accused in the second statement that was recorded before the magistrate. The case against the accused had been registered at Sarangpur police station.
