Xiaomi Reveals The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and the Redmi 5 Plus In Full Glory | India Launch Soon

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus were shown off by the company on Twitter ahead of the official launch due this week. Xiaomi has tasted constant success in the markets of China and India, so much so that recently it became India’s largest selling manufacturer dethroning Samsung. The popularity of the Chinese manufacturer also lies in the fact that it ensures an update to its existing line up almost every year. Following the same lines, the Redmi 4 series is bound to get an update too as Xiaomi gears up for the launch of Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.

Features of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus

The ongoing trend of the 18:9 aspect ratio screens seems to have hit Xiaomi too and it is all set to debut the screen in the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. Although, honestly it was Xiaomi itself which started the trend of screens with smaller or no bezels with the Mi Mix and now it wants to take the trend to the range of affordable phones as well. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus feature 5.7-inch HD+ displays with no hardware capacitive buttons at the bottom.

A Snapdragon 435 processor will handle the tasks on the Redmi 5 whereas the Redmi 5 Plus will get a 635 Soc which will be coupled to 2/3/4 GB of RAM depending on the variant. The rear camera on the back might be a 12MP unit whereas a 5MP lens does the job for selfies. The battery has taken a hit in the Xiaomi Redmi 5 at 3200mAh while the Redmi 5 Plus carries a 4000mAh powerhouse. Both these phones will replace the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime that are on sale both in China and India.

Price and Launch Date of Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in India

The Xiomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 leaks suggest that the phones will go on sale in China on the 10th of December and keeping in mind the importance of Indian market to Xiaomi it will launch the phones here shortly after the China launch. The China price is 1,399 CNY which means that the price of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in India will be around 13,600 Rupees.
