The debut movie of her went so well that she won the best actress for the same in the year 2016 PTC Film awards. Even Surveen Chawla landed in Punjabi industry with the movie Dharti in the year 2011, after doing serials like Kahin to Hoga, Kasauti Zindagi Ki and more.
Recently in 2017 and 2018, TV actresses Payal Rajput and Lovey Sasan have also debuted their career in Punjabi cinema with movies like Channa Mereya and Subedar Joginder Singh respectively. Even Payal Rajput won best female debut at Jio Punjabi Awards 2018.

Now for the year 2018, where Sargun Mehta and Payal Rajput will be seen on silver screen with new projects, 2 new faces from the TV industry is also set to join Punjabi film Industry. Sargun Mehta has been busy with ‘Qismat’ movie with Ammy Virk and Payal Rajput will be seen in the Punjabi movie Marriage Palace with Sharry Maan to be released in 2018 only.
On the other hand, a popular face of TV serials Sanjeeda Sheikh has signed Punjabi movie ‘Ashke’ with Amrinder Gill to be released on 27th July 2018. Also, another cute face of TV, Sapna Pabbi of Khamoshiyan movie will also be debuting her Punjabi cinema career with Gippy Grewal’s Mar gaye oye loko movie to be released on 31st August 2018.
