Himachal Pradesh: Heavy Snowfall Expected on These 2 days | Tourists Advised to Stay Away From High Hills

Himachal Pradesh has been already covered with thick snow and is expecting heavy snowfall soon. According to the MeT department, Himachal Pradesh including Shimla expected to receive heavy snowfall soon. Even residents and tourists are advised to stay away from high hills, as snowfall may block roads links.

Shimla, Manali, Kufri and many more received heavy snowfall in the last week of January 2019 only. Once again MeT has alerted Himachal Pradesh to be covered with snow on these weekdays only. Check out the current temperature in Himachal and more details regarding snowfall below.

Himachal Pradesh to Experience Heavy Snowfall from Wednesday

Last week only, Shimla, Chail, Kufri, Narkanda, Manali and Dalhousie received moderate snowfall in Himachal. As per reports, Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience heavy snowfall and rain from Wednesday. Western disturbance storm is likely to hit state by 7 February and the impact of the same will be very powerful in Himachal. The storm is about to hit Himachal from 6th to 8th February and it will hit the temperature hard.

Higher altitude towns like Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba are expected to receive snowfall. Whereas lower altitude towns of Himachal like Solan, Palamur, Bilaspur, Una, Hamirpur, Dharamshala and Mandi to experience widespread rain. Snowfall and rains are expected to hamper the travelling and other necessities in the area.

Here’s the current temperature of Himachal Pradesh’s Tourist Places

As per the weather reports on Monday, Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 5.6-degree Celsius. Whereas Kalpa and Manali temperature has been recorded at minus 5 degrees and minus 0.6-degree Celsius respectively. Further, the temperature in Dharamshala, Kufri and Dalhousie has been recorded at 4.8 degrees, 2.3 degrees and 4.2 degrees respectively.

In the last month of January 2019 only, Shimla’s snowfall broke the record of 15 years in just one day of snowfall. In regards to the western disturbance, there has been a high alert in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Also, the tourists and residents are advised to stay away from the high hills as there has been a chance of blocking of roads.
