2 Women Held at Chandigarh Airport for Smuggling Gold Bars in Shocking Way From Dubai

The ladies were caught bearing 820 grams of gold bars in their rectum valued Rs 25 lakh

We all have heard the famous Bollywood dialogue of the actor Ajit, “Mona, Kaha Hai Sona” but the kind of answer we got for it in real life after over four decades of its release has shocked one and all. Recently, in an awful incident reported in Chandigarh, 2 women were held for smuggling gold bars, surprisingly sealed in their rectum. Yes, that’s a little ewww… but its true. The ladies were caught bearing 820 grams of gold bars in their rectum valued Rs 25 lakh.

2 women accused of smuggling gold to Chandigarh from Dubai in their rectum

The two accused women who had flown from Dubai to Chandigarh were suspected at the security post of the Chandigarh International Airport due to their body language and inappropriate way of walking. They had concealed the valuable gold with the help of a contraband in order to deceive the security personnel. On creating a fear of health risk involved in such unnatural procedures, the accused confessed to the crime. The ladies were then taken to the washroom and had undergone a painful extraction of gold bars. The entire process of the withdrawal was performed under the supervision of the healthcare and medical officer which took almost an hour.

Out of the two accused, one has been identified as Amandeep (25) and Sumanjeet (27)  who hails from Gurdaspur in Punjab. Both of them are in the custody of police and are being interrogated to uproot the entire nexus of smugglers involved in it.

Similar incident in the past

This is not the first time when such a similar case has been reported here in the city beautiful. Last year, in July, a man hailing from Ullhasnagar,  Maharashtra was caught at the  Chandigarh International Airport for carrying 407 grams of gold. The 24-carat yellow metal that he was smuggling valued Rs 11 lakh  He was interrogated by the Director Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and was taken into the custody on the tip given by the Delhi’s central team. The accused was the courier of an underlying smuggling gang who wanted to transport goods illegally in India.

Prior to this, smugglers have used all peculiar and out of the box ways to transport drugs, golds, diamonds and the endangered species of reptiles from one destination to another by illegal means. But got caught red-handed by the authorities at various security checkpoints.

Chandigarh, which was once the city of love and dreams are now falling prey into the hands of such handful of the evils to bring the bad name to the city. If we ourselves become the responsible citizens and refrain ourselves from the bad practices then we can lead our society to a better new world.
