Chandigarh Traffic Police Tows Away Car in Sector 34 with 12-Year-Old Inside, Cop Suspended |Here’s What Happened

In a shocking report, a car in Chandigarh sector 34, was towed away by the Chandigarh Traffic police cop, which was wrongly parked on the road. What led to the suspension of the Traffic police cop was the 12-year-old child who was still inside the car while it was being towed away by the cop.

The case of child kidnapping and stolen car

According to the report, Mohali-based Rajesh along with his wife and 12-year old son had gone to the apni mandi in sector 34, Chandigarh. The couple left the child sleeping inside the car while they left to buy vegetables.

The moment, parents of the child came back and found their car missing, they immediately called the PCR number to report the kidnapping of the child and stolen car. It was only after the number of the car was flashed by the PCR with a message of the kidnapping of child and vehicle theft, that the traffic police realised the mistake.

Negligence of Chandigarh Traffic police, car towed away in Chandigarh with child sleeping inside

In a case of negligence, the Chandigarh traffic police towed a car in Sector 34 while the owner’s child was fast asleep inside it. As per the report, the car was wrongly parked, and the 12-year-old boy was sleeping inside it when the traffic cops towed it away. It was later informed that parents of the 12-year-old had gone to apni mandi in sector 34 while he was sleeping inside the car. The cops saw the wrongly parked car and towed it without noticing that the child was sleeping inside the car.

Chandigarh Traffic police cop suspended for negligence

The department has already initiated a departmental inquiry in the case besides sending Head Constable Subhash and Jagseer, a Home Guards volunteer to the traffic police lines in Sector 29 under suspension.

Father of the child, Mohali-based Rajesh has stated that he along with his wife and son had gone to the apni mandi in sector 34, Chandigarh. The child was sleeping, so the couple left him sleeping inside the car and went to buy vegetables. As the car was parked on the main road, Chandigarh traffic police officials towed it away while the boy was sleeping in it.

The parents did not file any complaint against the cops but after the 12-year old boy was handed over to the parents the Chandigarh traffic police decided to take action against the Head Constable and Home Guards volunteer for being negligent.
