The city beautiful- Chandigarh is all set to get its first flyover soon in the city and it will be built at Tribune Chowk. After years of delay, finally, the concerned authorities have approved the project for Chandigarh’s first flyover. Recently, it has been confirmed that Government has finally given a nod to the flyover at Tribune Chowk.

Chandigarh’s First Flyover to come at Tribune Chowk | Here are the details
The famous Tribune Chowk that is the gateway for Haryana, Himachal people to enter Chandigarh will soon get the first flyover of the city. Although the project was announced in the year 2016 only, unfortunately, it gets delayed due to its huge budget. But now, the Government has approved the project and it will kick start as soon as possible in the city.
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the first flyover at Tribune roundabout. Now further a formal approval has been awaited by the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari. Once the final approval has been out, the Chandigarh Administration will then invite tenders for the same.
Here is the budget & details regarding Chandigarh’s Tribune Flyover
As far the whopping budget for Chandigarh’s first Flyover is concerned, it was around Rs. 800 crores that were sent to the Authority earlier. Although the first flyover of Chandigarh will be constructed in 2 phases, for the first phase it will be constructed 300 metres before the GMCH 32 roundabout from Tribune Chowk. Whereas in its second phase, the flyover will be connected to Zirakpur. Although the authorities have approved a budget of Rs. 386 crore for the first phase of Tribune Flyover. Along with the flyover, the administration has also proposed an elevated road between Chandigarh and Zirakpur.
According to earlier reports, the first flyover of Chandigarh will of Cloverleaf type of flyover and it will add to the beauty of the city. Its great news for the people travelling daily from Tribune Chowk and have to face huge rush during wee hours. Soon, people will get relief from the traffic congestion at Tribune Chowk by the coming up of the first Flyover in the city.
