Chandigarh Carnival is an annual event which is organized by Chandigarh Tourism every year in the month of November. Chandigarh Carnival is a 3 day event and is normally held on the last weekend of November. This event has become quite famous recently and has helped Chandigarh Administration to promote tourism, culture and festivity celebrations in the city Chandigarh.
A carnival village is set up at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, opposite Government College of Arts. Various handicraft and food stalls are set up over here for the visitors. Entry to Chandigarh Carnival is free of cost. A stage is set where CITCO in collaboration with Chandigarh Administration makes arrangements for star nights by inviting Hindi and Punjabi singers.
Every year students of arts college make decorative floats which are a major attraction. Students take part in the Chandigarh Carnival Parade on the opening day of the event.
Chandigarh Carnival 2014
Carnival Theme = Clean and Green Chandigarh
Venue = Leisure Valley, Sector 10. Opposite
Dates = 28th (Friday), 29th (Saturday) and 30th (Sunday) November, 2014.
Punjabi Star Night :
Singers = Babbu Mann, Sarthi K, Rimz J, Nishwan Bhullar and Bittu Bajwa.
Comedian = Ranbir Rana.
Dance Performances by North Zonal Cultural Committee
Chandigarh Carnival is one of the major fair of the city beautiful. This is one of the the most colourful and joyous event of the city. If you missed out the Chandigarh Carnival 2014, then make sure to keep the last weekend of November 2015 absolutely free for this wonderful event.
