Chandigarh: A French Firm has promised to execute a project of supplying fresh water 24×7 to the residents of Chandigarh to bridge the gap of daily demand of 29 million gallon of water in the city.
As the “City Beautiful” is all set to become a “Smart City” it very obvious that a lot of demands regarding different things of people will also rise and alone, Chandigarh won’t be able to fulfill all the demands. Especially when it comes in terms of water supply a little help from France an excellent country won’t hurt.
27*7 Water Project and Its Benefits
With 24×7 water supply in all the sectors, smart water meters in every household, a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system that would monitor the complete transportation, distribution and treatment of water is what has been planned under the smart water supply. The study on the project regarding will begin by next week and a command control centre will be set up in Sector 17.

The French Company
The Smart City project has finalized a French company as the project management consultant. The French Firm Egis International has been tasked with supplying water 24×7 in the city.
The company, Egis International, which has its India office in Gurgoan, Haryana, will be given allotment letter by April 15, officils said.
Presently the city is only getting water supply in the morning and evening.
