
Chandigarh Housing Board is all set to come up with new houses for General public in sector 53 and 54. UT Estate office has already directed the Engineering wing to clear the land so taht it may be handed over to Chandigarh Housing Board for this housing project.
A total of 1,00550 sq yards of land has been en marked in sector 53 and 1,53,955 sq. yard in sector 54 for this new housing project. It has been said that the Chandigarh Housing board will develop flats on this land which will be allotted to general public by lucky draw means. Number of flats, dimentions and the cost of flat has not been announced yet but the housing board of Chandigarh will soon come up with a proposed plan in this regard.
It is after 6 long years that the Chandigarh Housing Board has announced the development of a new housing project in Chandigarh. This announcement is sure to take those people on their feet who are eager to buy their own house in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

According to the reports and a news article published in Times of India, Chandigarh Housing Board has deposited the amount required to acquire the land from Chandigarh Estate Office.

Chairman of the Chandigarh Housing Board, B.S. Bhalla said that the housing scheme for sector 53 and 54 will be announced soon. CHB is planning to construct flats of different categories which include One room flat (EWS), 1 BHK (LIG), 2 BHK (MIG) and 3 BHK (HIG). These plans will be presented to the Urban Planning Department, Chandigarh and construction will begin once the plans get approved.
