After making to the list of smart city, Chandigarh Administration always looks forward to maintaining the beauty of the city and making it more famous. In accordance to make Indian citizens aware about the beautiful city, Chandigarh administration had set up ‘Chandigarh Pavilion’ in the India International Trade Fair 2016. Chandigarh Pavilion consists of 9 different stalls out of which 4 are for different departments of Chandigarh administration, 3 for the handicraft artists of the city and 2 for Chandigarh based startups.
India International Trade fair 2016
India International Trade Fair is organised by The India Trade Promotion Organisation in order to boost up the business opportunities and share various techniques and reforms used by different states and Union Territories of India as well as other countries. 36th India International Trade Fair 2016 was organised in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 14 November to 27 November on the theme of ‘Digital India’.
What all was there at Chandigarh Pavilion 2016?
The idea of Chandigarh Pavilion is to promote futuristic digital Chandigarh. The model of Hop on Hop off bus was placed at the entrance with LED screen to showcase the journey of Chandigarh. The view of open hand has also been displayed in the pavilion. The department of industries, Chandigarh administration had set up ‘Chandigarh Pavilion’, which was spread across 439 sq. metres inside hall no. 6 of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Out of total 9 stalls at Chandiagrh Pavillion, 4 were allotted to various departments of Chandigarh administration, that is:
- Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation
- Tourism Department
- Government Museum and Art Gallery
- The jails department
Along with the different department of Chandigarh, three handicraft artists from Chandigarh is also exhibiting their products in the India International Trade Fair 2016, like-
- Decorative show piece
- Planters & sculptures
- Wall hanging
- Decorative glasses
Chandigarh administration has depicted to promote the technology sector of the beautiful city, as the theme of the trade fair was ‘Digital India’. In accordance to the theme, the administration has allotted 2 stalls to Jugnoo and RayCare to represent Chandigarh as IT startup hub.
