Chandigarh is expected to get more rain by the next week as well. From Wednesday onwards Northern part of India has been covered with rain and thunderstorm and even the winters are back. Chandigarh along with Punjab and Haryana have been experiencing the rain and thunderstorm. Also, the higher altitude has been alerted of heavy snowfall as well.
Not only Chandigarh, but even Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have also been experiencing rainfall and thunderstorm in the region. Even it has been expected to stay by the last of March month and people have to unpack their winter stuff. Check the current and upcoming weather of North India below.
Chandigarh: Expect more rain in the city by Next Week
Chandigarh has been experiencing lil lil rain since Wednesday morning and it has been recorded that the city got 0.2 mm rain in 24 hours. Also the nearby places like Ludhiana and Ambala also got a few drops of rain on the same day. According to MeT department, the change in the weather has been due to the Western disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir region. The same has induced cyclonic circulation over Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan region.
Although reports have been there that, the weather may clear by Thursday night and Friday will be a Sunny day. Although this weather change has also registered a dip in temperature, which was increased by 2 to 3-degree Celsius last week. Further, it has been expected that Chandigarh and North India may get the spell of rain on March 19 as well. Chandigarhians may enjoy a Holi with rain this year.
Even Himachal Pradesh Expects More Snowfall
Although the plains have been experiencing the rain, Himachal and other high altitude region have been registering fresh snowfall. Recently the temperature of Dalhousie was registered at minus 0.1 degrees after a snowfall. Even some parts of Himachal witnessed rainfall on Wednesday as well.
Further according to the MeT department, Winters are expected to stay back till the last of March this year. So people don’t put back your jackets and other winter stuff because ‘picture abhi baki hai doston’. Happy winters again.
