After 2-wheeler, the number of registration for 4-wheeler has been highest in the city. As per the report, from 2001 to 2108, a total of 6,83,917 vehicles were registered in Chandigarh

Whereas 3-wheeler registration in Chandigarh has fallen down

As the city has reported, increase in the number of registration of 4-wheeler in 2018, there has been a decline in 3-wheeler registration. According to STA report, the registration of 3-wheeler has fallen drastically in the year 2018. In the year 2017, there were a total of 2050 registration of the 3-wheelers. But in 2018, only 139 number of 3-wheelers were registered in the city beautiful Chandigarh.

Whereas according to STA official the main reason in the decline of 3-wheeler registration is that, authority does not allow numbers to go higher than 6000. Another reason is that there has been a ban in the diesel-operated auto-rickshaw in Chandigarh and STA has stopped its registration.
