The city beautiful- Chandigarh Administration has been planning to provide new platforms for Startups. UT Administrator has been all set establish Chandigarh Regional Innovation and Knowledge Cluster Company (CRIKC) soon. As of now, UT Administrator has prepared a draft of a proposal for the same and it has been expected to get the approval soon.

According to reports, it is first of its kind platform for the startups in North India. It has been a pet project of UT Administrator V.P Badnore and aims to develop  Chandigarh as a knowledge hub. Read more details regarding CRIKC for startups below.

All About New Platforms for Startups in Chandigarh- CRIKC

Chandigarh Regional Innovation and Knowledge Cluster Company (CRIKC) started as a society of 21 members from national and regional institutes. Now the administration has been planning to develop it as a Company by investing Rs. 10 crores. CRIKC aims to develop Chandigarh as a knowledge hub and for fostering innovation growth in the region. CRIKC is a non-profit organization and will be promoted by UT Administration and Punjab Government.

According to the proposal of UT Administrator, Chandigarh because of its standards of livability and great connectivity has the potential to emerge as a leading cluster for innovations entrepreneurship development. Whereas the vision of CRIKC Limited is to serve as a platform to nurture and develop a vibrant ecosystem to promote knowledge innovation, sharing, investment and entrepreneurship in greater Chandigarh regions towards innovation growth.

Whereas the board of directors of CRIKC will have 2 representatives from UT and Punjab. Further its executive structure will have CEO, Chairman and directors of life sciences, food & agriculture, IT-enabled services, IT and Himalayan bioresources.

As per the proposal, Chandigarh Regional Innovation and Knowledge Cluster Company (CRIKC) will mostly focus on Information Technology, IT-enabled services, food and agriculture, biotechnology, Himalayan bioresources and life and medical sciences.

Whereas for all the entrepreneurs, startups and innovators will facilitate access to technological innovations.
