Chandigarh has all indulge in the celebration of Chhath puja for the year 2017. After the celebration of the festival of lights, people of Chandigarh is all set for the prayer of god sun as Chhath Pooja. 4-day long Chhath festival has started from 24th October 2017 with Nahai-Khai and will end on 27th October 2017 with giving ‘arghya’ to the rising sun by the devotees in Chandigarh. And on 26th and 27th Oct 2017, devotees will celebrate Kharna and give arghya to setting sun respectively in the city beautiful Chandigarh as a part of Chhath Puja.

Likewise every year, Bihar Parishad has decorated the Sector 42 (Chandigarh) New Lake for the Chhath Puja so that devotees can give arghya to the sun. Even the preparation for Chhath puja in Chandigarh also provides the accommodation facility for the devotees. So that people can easily stay on the Chhath puja site without any problem. Even their will a Prashad distribution for all the devotees on the Chhath ghat in Sector 42 Lake, Chandigarh.
On 26th Oct 2017, devotees will give arghya to setting sun in evening around 3 pm and on the very next day i.e 27th Oct 2017, devotees will pray to the rising sun on early morning around 4-5 am at New Lake, Sector 42 Chandigarh. More than 1 Lakh devotees are expected gather during the Chhath Puja 2017 in Chandigarh.
