Panchkula Hosted India’s Tallest Ravan for 2018 Dusshera | Facts You Need to Know

Panchkula, a city near Chandigarh is hosting the world’s tallest Ravana in India for Dusshera 2018. As per reports, the height of Ravan is 210 making the tallest Ravan in India ever built. The Ravana stands tall in Sector 5 ground opposite Shalimar mall building and has been built by Mata Mansa Devi Charitable Trust. The total cost of this Ravan has been estimated to be Rs. 30 lakh and all of it has been borne by the Mata Mansa Devi Charitable Trust. The height of the Ravana effigy is 210 feet which is way more than any close by building in Panchkula.

LED lights have been attached in the crown of the Ravana to make it glitter in the night hours. The lightening of this Ravana effigy is yet another new thing which is not seen normally. Dressed in black and golden colour, the Ravan is visible from few kilometres away.

World’s Tallest Ravan in India (Panchkula)

Another major thing about the world’s tallest Ravan is that it was made to stand 6 days before Dusshera 2018. People from Panchkula, Chandigarh, Mohali and other nearby cities of Punjab and Haryana are visiting the ground to have a selfie clicked with the world’s tallest Ravan.

Over 400 policemen and 125 bouncers will be there to manage the crowd on 19th October for Dusshera 2018 when the effigy will be set on fire. It has been stated that the weight of the world’s tallest Ravan in India Panchkula is 6200 Kg. As a measure for precaution and due to tall length, a circle of 250 meters has been set around the effigy where no one will be allowed. The stage has also been set up at 250 feet distance from the huge Ravan.

Another fact is that there will be no effigies of Meghnath and Kumbhkaran along with this tallest Ravana at Panchkula, India for Dusshera 2018. Over 40 workers have been guarding the Ravan effigy from the last couple of weeks day and night while working in shifts.

Watching this Ravan go up in flames will be a delight to watch. Mata Mansa Devi Trust is expecting a crowd of over 3 Lakh people for the Dusshera 2018 event.
