Flipkart’s Co-Founder Sachin Bansal Self Delivers Couriers to Users in Chandigarh

Chandigarh and Flipkart, these two names don’t need much of an introduction and also the bond between the two names is not unknown. In order to share the love for his hometown, executive chairman and co-founder of Flipkart – Sachin Bansal acted as a delivery boy for and hand delivered the parcels to users in Chandigarh.

Flipkart which has its roots in the city beautiful, is celebrating the “Big Billion Days” sale season and thus Sachin Bansal came forward to meet Flipkart users in Chandigarh. This shows that the billionaire surely loves his hometown.

Sachin Bansal studied at DAV Sr. Sec. School, Sector-8, Panchkula followed by a graduation from DAV College in Sector 10, Chandigarh. His father is still staying in Chandigarh. Bansal chose Friday for the event as a thanksgiving day to the users of this huge e-commerce brand. He shared his excitement with people by interacting with them, being at their homes and personally delivering their orders. He asked for the experience of the customers as a feedback for using the services of Flipkart, and this joy became two-fold when people out of excitement clicked selfies and invited him over a cup of tea inside their homes. Sachin Bansal seemed very happy to meet people of his hometown so closely who included general users of Chandigarh.

Flipkart as a company has already crossed a mark of more than 100 million users and no doubts about it that they are expecting the growth of this business bigger and better in the coming time very soon. Bansal was one of the pioneers of this business but didn’t appear publicly. While delivering packages in Chandigarh, Sachin Bansal shared his experience by tweeting a few pictures with the customers. The first home he delivered the package was to the daughter of an air force employee. He also shared his joy by saying that he gained quite a good insight for the business by this close interaction with users. Bansal also delivered packages in Punjab and even met the first online customer in Jogewala village.

Flipkart became the first e-commerce company for setting a benchmark of having 100 million registered users for a single country outside US and China. A ground breaking sales of Rs 1400 crores in a single day was recorded for this e-commerce portal. According to The Tribune, it happened for the first time that sales on an e-commerce business has surpassed the total retail sales in the whole of India, which is around 1070 crores.
