Helicopter Taxi Service Launched Between Shimla-Chandigarh | Flight Time and Price

In order to provide better air connectivity services and fast commutation facilities, to the people of Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh at the time of illness and other emergencies, Helicopter taxi Services has been launched on February 28, 2019, between Shimla and Chandigarh under the UDAN-II scheme.

Also, the helicopter taxi service will be used to promote tourist visits as well as tourism in between both the places Shimla and Chandigarh. Previously on June 4, 2018, in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh government as well as Pawan Hans the Heli-taxi services were temporarily offered and were further discontinued due to some reasons.

Helicopter Taxi Service Depart Timings and Ticket Price

Under UDAN-II scheme, the flight will depart from Chandigarh at 10 am in the morning and after a thirty-minute flight, it will reach Jubbarhatti airport, Shimla at 10:30 am. Also, from Shimla, the flight will depart at 10:55 am and will reach Chandigarh at 11:25 am. Initially, it would be a three-day flight in a week but after two weeks it would have six flights in a week. One way fare price would be Rs 2880 and would ensure that common man could also take benefits of this service.

On Helicopter Taxi services Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh has also ensured that apart from Shimla-Chandigarh, UDAN-II scheme would also cover flights between Shimla-Kullu and Shimla-Dharamshala. This Service would ensure that all the major tourist destinations and circuits of the state will get proper air connectivity. UDAN-II scheme would also give a big boost to the tourism development of Himachal Pradesh as there was a vast tourism potential in the state to attract domestic as well as foreign tourists.

Main Aim behind Helicopter Services Between Chandigarh & Shimla

The main Aim behind this is to promote air connectivity to the hill station and to provide a fast and securest flight to the common peoples who could not reach hospitals in time because of the hectic conditions of the Shimla highway. It will also help to boost up the tourism development in Himachal Pradesh and will be able to attract domestic as well as foreign tourists.

The reply of the public in context to these services is awaited and if a positive response is encountered, the frequency of the rides is likely to be increased and expanded in all the districts of Himachal Pradesh.
