Chandigarh Traffic Police has become one of the first police force in India who has started issuing HSRP (High Security Registration Plate) challans. According to the Supreme Court orders last year, all vehicle in India should have a High Security Number Plate and a certain time was given to state governments to make sure that all old vehicles get these new number plates affixed. These HSRPs have to be affixed on two-wheelers and four-wheelers both. Challans in Chandigarh are being issued to those vehicles which have not yet got a high security number plate affixed.
High Security Number Plate Challan in Chandigarh
Chandigarh Traffic Police, which is considered to be one of the most active police force in India have already challed 7680 vehicles in Chandigarh for not having high security number plates. Out of these 3,829 are two-wheelers and 3,861 are four-wheelers. These challans have been issued in a short duration and includes those old vehicles which have not got a high security number plate despite announcement for their registration series by the RLA.
Where to get high security number plates in Chandigarh?
If you are one of those who has missed out your registration series, all you need to do is to visit the Registration and Licensing Office in Sector 17, Chandigarh to get further instructions about how you can get an appointment for your vehicle’s high security number plate. Even after the deadline has ended, Chandigarh RLA is a little behind schedule as all registration series have not been completed. But the Chandigarh Police is issuing challans according to the notification been sent to them for various series.
