Kings XI Punjab have finally posted their first win of IPL 2015 season at PCA Stadium by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore. This win of Kings XI Punjab at their home ground in Mohali has brought cheers among Chandigarh cricket fans.
How rain at PCA Stadium affected the IPL match?
While it was raining heavily in Chandigarh during the evening, the match was delayed by 3 hours. Instead of the scheduled starting time of 8:00 PM, the match between KXIP and RCB at PCA Stadium began at 10:45 PM only after the rain had stopped. The authorities decided to make it a 10 over match due to late start.
Many seats in the stadium were seen vacant due to heavy rain but a large number of fans who turned up at PCA Stadium to cheer their home team despite the rain were seen glued to their seats till the end. Visitors were seen enjoying the rain and dancing on Punjabi songs before the start of the match.
Kings XI Punjab win over Royal Challengers Bangalore:
In a 10 over match at PCA Stadium at Mohali, KXIP batted first and posted a total of 106 runs by loosing 6 wickets. RCB could only make 84 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 10 overs making Kings XI Punjab win the match by 22 runs.
In the next match to be held at PCA Stadium, Chandigarh, Kings XI Punjab will take on Chennai Super Kings on 16th May, 2015.
