A B.Tech student at UIET Chandigarh – Panjab University’s Engineering College, Lovejot is also the C.E.O of a Multinational company. Goosebumps? Yes, this is something unconventional and amazing.
Being a 4th year student, Lovejot Singh Chhabra is the Founder and CEO of Cyber Defence Intelligence Consulting, a reputed company providing cyber security services to global clients and ethical hacking training to students who want to enter this field. He started his entrepreneurial journey when he was just 18 years old and has achieved many awards and laurels to his credit. A well known cyber security consultant in the region, Lovejot is successfully leading his Company to touch new heights. From Indian defence forces to big IT corporates, CDI consulting is serving them all with excellent cyber security solutions.

We got caught hold of Mr. Lovejot for a special interview to know more about him and the trend of ethical hacking in Chandigarh. Here’s all that he said.
How and When did you start your entrepreneurship journey?
“It was during my first year of college that I had an inclination towards cyber security. I was well versed with all major technical knowledge and started offering my consulting services to IT corporates. Slowly with the time, I realized no company is providing ethical hacking services/cyber security services in a structured way with good approach. Cyber security & ethical hacking segment of IT industry was still at nascent stage in India. So, I started making structure of my company’s business model with different verticals and executed it to reality.”
What skills should an Ethical Hacker have to be successful?
Lovejot Singh Chhabra smiled and answered “Just the Undying sense of curiosity in computer sciences is enough to drive you to success”.
What do you think about cyber security job opportunities in India?
“Being cyber security advisor to various government bodies and IT companies, I personally feel that there are a lot of emerging opportunities for youth in this segment. But, unfortunately lack of awareness and ill practices of some ethical hacking institutes are misguiding our youth in the wrong direction. There is huge demand supply gap in this industry. The solution lies in the right approach to industry oriented skills. We get a lot of queries from entire north India who are ready to come to Chandigarh or Mohali to learn ethical hacking and make a career in cyber securities. Lot of companies now have a good amount of vacancies based on these skills.”
What are your future projects or goals in terms of cyber security or ethical hacking in Chandigarh?
“We are working on various products that will solve security problems faced by IT industry, not just in Chandigarh or India, but on a global level. We are building products and training vertical in penetration testing, security auditing and information security compliance regulations”.
