Manali (Himachal Pradesh) | City Seeks Extra Police Force to Tackle Tourist Rush

Manali District Administration in Himachal Pradesh has been seeking 200 extra police officers to make it smooth for the tourist during rush. Manli has planned to put up 200 more police officers to prevent traffic jams in Manali during peak tourist time. As its summer time in plain areas, thousands of people from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh head towards Manali to spend their summer vacations. During summers, people rush to Manali to observe snow in Gulaba that is 23 km ahead of Manali. So during this season, huge traffic jams create unnecessary problems for the tourists and the residents.

And the new rules for tourists in Manali

As of now, traffic in Manali has been maintained by 2 reserve battalions that consist of 28 jawans. And further, 2 more battalions are expected to join to ensure the smooth traffic movement in the hill station. Traffic in Manali has drastically increased in last few days, thus the current force is unable to handle the rush.

Because of the traffic rush, tourists who are willing to see snow in Gulaba have to travel 3 hours to reach there. Whereas without traffic people can reach Gulaba in just 2 hours. Further, access till Marhi will only be provided to those tourists for whom adequate parking arrangements will be done. As because Manali expects more tourists in the month of May and June due to the summer season in plain areas, so to make it easy for the tourists this step has been taken

Manali have been considered as the best hill stations in India. And during summer time it is one of the beautiful hill station to be on and spend your vacations. Last year approximately 35 lakh people visited the place and most of the crowd was in between mid-April and June,
